Bio

My name is Holly Makin, and I was born in September, so being named holly has nothing to do with Christmas, though I do enjoy singing the holly and the ivy around the festive period, and I like it when my mam wraps ALL my presents up with wrapping paper featuring only holly designs.

I’m 17, which means I’m not legally allowed to consume alcohol but I’m old enough to look 18 so it means I can, ~~and do on a regular basis.~~

I'm not afraid to say what I'm thinking, though sometimes I don’t think it all the way through and end up hurting someone, usually someone I care about... I get over-exited easily, and I’m also very easily amused. I giggle a lot and have a tendency to use the same words over and over again,~~geetmintamazingtotal~~, though my vocabulary is really not that narrow. I discover cool words and try to use them as much as possible.

I think double deckers are terribly under-rated and that any shop that doesn’t sell irn bru should be closed down for eternity. I think boys dancing badly are cute and love it when people are able to sing songs with me on the way out of bulletproof.

Because I’m loud and opinionated people often think I’m stronger than I actually am and this lj is used mainly for the times I’m not feeling so strong. Sometimes I can be seen as being bitchy, sometimes I really am bitchy, but mostly the things I say are true, so I’m reluctant to apologise for that.

I LOVE finding new bands before other people and going "have you heard of..." I love bands in general, and I love indie music, in general, with all my heart. I like pretending I’m cooler than I actually am, and I also love fannying about in the common room with all my sixth form mates. I really honestly would die without eyeliner, and though I have naturally straight hair, I would like to thank the inventor of straighteners with all my heart, for he has enabled me to have a hairstyle that almost looks half decent.

I work in a library, ~~and sometimes, I actually enjoy it.~~ I get paid VERY well for what I do, but the fact I don’t work many hours means I’m still skint most of the time. I also don’t get ema, which I am terribly bitter about and would like to kill whoever came up with the concept of giving it just to poor people. I like the word FACT and have stolen it from a boy called harby.

I really honestly do think I have the best set of mates in the world, EVAR, and enjoy every single second I spend with them. Id name them all, but id miss people out and they'd shout at me, so I’m not, but you all know who you are, and you're SEXSPATULA.

I would prefer to stay up all night and sleep all day, and I love getting random texts at odd hours in the morning, but only if they don’t say "do you miss me?" I love jean paul gaultier classique and I hope that when people smell it they think of me. I always wear tops that come too low and get wrong for it. I find ringing or texting someone when you're in the same room as them hilarious. I always always always accept flyers from people and have a collection in my memory box.
